Us la mereixeu; tot i tenir-me lluny durant 24 mesos, no hem perdut el contacte.

Some traditions never change. You know that, it doesn’t matter where you live, you gotta keep them going. One of these, for a catalan guy like me, is eating twleve grapes when the twelve bells sound at midnight. I did it two years ago at home, last year in Seoul and this year, couldn’t be otherwise, in Auckland.

However, this New Year’s Eve will have even more catalan nuances. I will also have Estrella Damm (catalan beer), a bottle of Freixenet (catalan cava), “torró” (tradicional catalan-spanish-italian christmas dessert) and the mencioned grapes.

Because even being in the farthest place on earth from Catalonia, I feel like at home.

Happy New 2013. A really sincere and intense hug for all of you. You deserve it; even though since you left New Zealand we’ve been quite far from each other, we’re still in touch (as we promised) and that makes me really really proud of us.

Cheers cheers. Have a drink for me! I will for you!
