Halloween!!!

La setmana passada xatejava amb en Szymanski (el recordeu?) i em comentava que feia temps que no veia fotos de casa meva celebrant una festa. I tenia raó! Des de la marxa del polonès, ànima festiva a casa, poca gresca s’havia patit a l’apartament 1308. Ahir, tot aprofitant Halloween, vaig renovar la quota festiva al pis. De debò.

Prova evident que en qüestió de 72 hores es pot muntar una festa amb cara i ulls ha estat la passada nit. Diversió en estat pur. No us enganyaré, jo sóc molt de castanyada. Ja sabeu, panellets, castanyes, cava, sopar i bla bla bla… però entendreu que a Nova Zelanda, les castanyes torrades importen tres pitos. Aquí la cosa va més de Halloween, disfresses i alcohol. I un servidor s’ha d’adaptar al país. És com si un kiwi estigués a Catalunya, oi que us agradaria que menges castanyes? Pos lo mismo.

Convidats a la festa, un fotimer. A més, sempre passa allò de que ve l’amic de l’amic, de manera que entre pitos i flautes vam arribar a ser uns 20 al pis… poc més d’un metre quadrat per persona. Poc, però més que suficient.

Gran aportació la d’en Brad, el meu ex professor. Es va apuntar a última hora (gràcies a una dura negociació amb la seva xicota i la seva filla de 19 dies) i va portar un equip de música professional sota el braç. Impressionant. I molt apropiada la seva disfressa de metge. Doncs això, sessió musical non stop de 8 hores de la mà de Dr.Dj. Un èxit.

Les 115 ampolles de cervesa que ens ha tocat llençar a la brossa són una altra prova evident del que va donar de sí la nit.

A destacar haver hagut de posar punt i final a la nit quan, a tres quarts de 4 del matí, el maori encarregat de la seguretat de l’edifici va picar a la porta. Interessant conversa la que vam tenir. La millor part:

-Quants cops t’hem hagut de cridar l’atenció per soroll?
-Mai!
-Et permetem tres avisos. Aquest és el primer.

Total, que abans de marxar del pis encara puc muntar una última festa sense problemes! Gran notícia!

Last week I was chatting with Szymanski (do you remember him) and we told me that had been long time without any party in my place. Well, he was right! Since the polish left NZ, hasn’t been many parties in the 1308 of Queen St. However, yesterday the dry party season was over, indeed.

A good prove of how 72h are enough to get ready a nice Halloween party is what happened last night at home. Real happiness. I won’t cheat you, I love “castanyada” (catalan tradition celebrated instead of Halloween). You know, chestnuts, “panellets”, cava, nice dinner and bla bla bla… but I guess you will understand that in New Zealand, chestnuts don’t matter at all. Here, the tradition is more related with Halloween, costumes and alcohol. And I have to fit into kiwi traditions, havn’t I? Is like if a kiwi was studying in Barcelona… won’t you like him to enjoy the “castanyada”? Therefore, they expect the same about me.

People at home, a lot. What’s more, friends of friends also came, so we end up being 20 people or so. A little bit more than one square metre per person… not so much, but enough.

Amazing Brad’s input. He could come to our place and he brought a professional mixing board. Unbelievable. Besides he was wearing a appropiate doctor costume, so cute. So, we had 8 hours of non stop music by Dr.Dj. Pleasure.

115 empty bottles of beer are the evidence of how the night happened. Last but not least, it’s important to highlight how the party get to the end. It was 3.45am when a maori security guy of the building knocked our door and complained about noise. The conversation was interesting, especially the last part:

-How many times have you been warned?
-Never mate..!
-We let you three warnings. This is the first.

So, before leaving the building I can still celebrate another party without any worry! Good news!
